• Account details: name, phone number, email address, profile photo (optional), about/bio text.
• Communications: messages, voice notes, photos, videos, documents, locations, and contacts you share via the app.
• Authentication data: OTPs, two-factor authentication data, login events.

1.2 Information we collect automatically

• Device identifiers: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token.
• Usage data: crash logs, errors, session info, app version.
• Contacts (optional): uploaded to show which contacts use Whatchat.
• Media access: used only when sending media or calls.
• Location (optional): only when shared manually.

1.3 Information we do not collect

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not show ads.
• We do not read chat content beyond delivery/storage needs.

2. How we use your information

• Deliver and sync chats and calls
• User authentication (OTP, Google, Facebook)
• Push notifications
• Fraud and abuse prevention
• Service improvement
• Legal compliance

3. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We only share with service providers:

• Google (Firebase notifications)
• Google / Facebook (login authentication)
• Cloud storage provider (media files)

We may disclose data if required by law.

4. Data retention

• Messages stored while account exists
• Account deleted within 30 days
• Logs retained up to 90 days

5. Your rights

• Access: Request your data
• Correct: Edit profile
• Delete: Permanently remove account
• Deactivate: Pause account

EU/UK users have additional GDPR rights.

6. Children

Not intended for children under 13 (or 16 in EU).

7. Security

• TLS encryption
• Secure device storage

Data may be processed in the US and Europe.
